Our Mission is to help youth grow into understanding their skills and abilities. We seek to give the tools necessary to help scholars in their phases of learning so that they may be able to find a mission that is personal to their life. Our intention is to help the scholars grow into leaders who will embody a moral foundation of truth, virtue, compassion, liberty, and courage so that they may positively impact the world for good. We believe and actively encourage the following principles:

Love of God- We recognize that God loves effort. In return, He blesses us with enlightened answers, paths and understanding. He has helped guide this effort and people have come together for a reason. God wants us to learn and gain knowledge. We believe “All human beings—male and female—are created in the image of God. Each is a beloved spirit son or daughter of heavenly parents, and, as such, each has a divine nature and destiny. Gender is an essential characteristic of individual premortal, mortal, and eternal identity and purpose.” (The Family A Proclamation  To The World, ChurchOfJesusChrist.org)

Love of Family- Our families take priority over everything. We love our children and want our children to love family culture. We strive to create a quality family environment and atmosphere where our scholars can find and connect with peers of common ground. We encourage open and honest communication in all relationships so that bonds may strengthen.

Freedom to Choose Education- It is important for us to recognize that scholars are the ones that choose to be educated. Please recognize that many of our mentors and instructors are volunteers or receive very little compensation. We ask that scholars fully participate and engage in the classes that they have chosen to be in. We know that many classes are chosen based on peer influence and we encourage peers to be together as this is beneficial to the scholar’s development. We expect the scholars to be accountable for their choices and do the work they have set out to do with every class that they choose to participate in. Please communicate with your mentor or instructor if you ever have questions or concerns.   

Classics not Textbooks- We consider a classic to be a book, piece, or source that you can go back to over and over again and continue to learn from. We know that textbooks may have their place.  However, when it comes to truly understanding the time, era, political atmosphere, and events of history, classical literature can do more than any textbook can. In science and math we seek for truth. A study of truths that are constant is necessary for us to understand and measure truth for ourselves. Classic literature in all sciences is highly encouraged.

Mentors- Everyone has had a “teacher” or an “educator” in their life that has influenced them for the good. We prefer the term “mentor” because we know that those who are devoting their time and energy to lead a class for the benefit of our scholars are truly invested in them. We expect our mentors to honor scholars where they are and encourage them in their growth of academics and character. Mentors are expected to be helpful, compassionate, and challenge scholars when and where they are ready.
